Children and Teens
Finding the best care
Parents seek therapy for their children and teens for a variety of reasons including depression, anxiety, stress, and life changes such as divorce, loss, blending families, and more.
Depending on the age of the child and the issues being addressed therapy may look very different. Similar to therapy with adults, therapists work with families to develop treatment plans that includes outlining the treatment methods used and goals for treatment. Each therapist at CPC has their own method, treatment style, and treatment modalities that they use, but when working with kids and teens it can often include hands on activities such as art or games.
One of the most important aspects in working with children and teens is developing rapport and a trusting relationship with the child. CPC therapists recognize the importance of developing that relationship and take steps to ensure that the children and teens that we work with feel supported, cared for, and are comfortable working with us.
Choosing a therapist is an important decision. At CPC we encourage you to read the biographies of all of our therapists or give us a call to assist with finding the right fit for you or your family member. If you are seeking therapy for a teen, we encourage you to allow your teen to read our biographies and allow them to have some input on this important decision.
